⚖️ Disclaimer: Methodology, Scope, and Future Evolution

The NaturismRE™ Global Nudism & Naturism Index has been meticulously developed over an 18-month research period, assessing every recognised country, state, and territory worldwide using a consistent and transparent set of parameters.

This Index is the result of dedicated work conducted by NaturismRE™’s resident artificial intelligence, Aletheos™, in collaboration with human oversight and ethical review. Aletheos™ gathered, cross-verified, and scored global data based on the following five pillars:

  • Legal Status of non-sexual public nudity

  • Availability of Facilities (e.g. nude beaches, resorts, trails)

  • Cultural Acceptance (social attitudes, media, and events)

  • Naturist Infrastructure (clubs, federations, advocacy groups)

  • Law Enforcement Trends (tolerance, prosecution, crackdown patterns)

Each location has been scored out of 25 points, with a maximum of 5 per category, drawing from verified legal documents, academic and journalistic sources, public records, travel advisories, and user reports.

🔄 An Evolving Index – Version 2.0 Already in Development

Naturism and body freedom rights are dynamic. As laws shift and social movements grow, the Index must evolve too.

Aletheos™ is currently preparing Index 2.0, which will incorporate additional criteria such as:

  • Religious and cultural tolerance toward naturism

  • Digital censorship and social media bans

  • Legal gender parity in naturist spaces

  • Family naturism and youth inclusion policies

  • Recognition of naturism as a belief, philosophy, or identity

These additions aim to provide an even more holistic and fair global picture, with quarterly updates planned moving forward.

This heat map visually represents the NaturismRE Global Naturist Index 2025, which evaluates how supportive or restrictive each country is toward naturism, nudism, and clothing-optional living.

🔹 Color Scale Interpretation

The map uses a blue-to-grey color gradient to indicate each country's naturism score:

  • Deep Blue (Score 25) – Strongly supportive of naturist culture. These countries have:

    • Legal recognition or tolerance of social nudity

    • Numerous official or unofficial naturist spaces

    • A high level of social acceptance

    • Active federations or community organizations

  • Sky Blue (Score 15–20) – Generally friendly, but with limitations. These countries may:

    • Allow naturism in some public spaces or beaches

    • Support it socially or regionally, but without national legal protection

  • Light Blue-Grey (Score 5–10) – Moderately restrictive or inconsistent. Characteristics include:

    • Naturism may be tolerated in isolated areas

    • Legal status is ambiguous or culturally contested

  • Light Grey (Score 0–5) – Hostile or criminalizing environments. These countries often:

    • Have laws that explicitly ban public nudity

    • Fine, arrest, or stigmatize naturists

    • Lack public or private spaces for naturist expression

The Global Naturist Index is designed to:
