Outdated Laws Must Be Retired
Naturism is not indecency. Nudity is not a crime. Body freedom is not an offence.
But in much of the world, the law still says otherwise — either directly or by omission.
For decades, laws meant to target lewd acts, harassment, or indecent exposure have been lazily — or deliberately — applied to simple, non-sexual nudity in nature. As a result:
Innocent naturists have been fined, harassed, or prosecuted
Clothing-optional spaces have been restricted or criminalised
The social stigma reinforced by law continues to damage mental health and body acceptance
NaturismRE Is Changing That We are launching a series of coordinated legislative campaigns, petition drives, and public submissions in multiple countries — starting with Australia — to formally advocate for:
Clear legal separation between naturism and indecency
Recognition of public, non-sexual nudity as a protected lifestyle and expression
Creation or protection of clothing-optional zones in natural and recreational areas
Legal mechanisms for naturist permits, exemptions, or designations
These campaigns will be submitted to:
National legislatures
State and territory governments
Local councils and land management authorities
We are also preparing template bills and model amendments that supporters and politicians can adopt or adapt in their jurisdiction.
20 Petitions — One Global Voice NaturismRE currently runs 20 active petitions, each designed to spark legislative or societal reform. These range from regional zoning policy updates to national declarations of body freedom.
Our flagship petition, the Australian Decency and Public Nudity Clarification Bill 2025, has already gathered over 4,300 signatures. But a petition, no matter how well written, means nothing without people behind it.
